Our Mission
The Junior Welfare League is an organization of women committed to serving and improving the quality of life for people living in York County. We are dedicated to focusing on advocacy, health, education and awareness of issues for women and children. Our purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
As active volunteers, fundraisers, and community partners, our members work together to identify local needs and respond with meaningful action. Through hands-on service projects, grant funding, and impactful events, we support organizations and initiatives that make a real difference. Just as importantly, we strive to build a strong foundation of fellowship and personal growth among our members, fostering a spirit of leadership, compassion, and lifelong commitment to service.
Join a Legacy of Service, Friendship, & Impact
As a member, you’ll be part of a vibrant organization with a rich tradition of service and sisterhood. Through hands-on volunteer work, meaningful fundraising efforts, and strong partnerships with local nonprofits, we strive to meet the evolving needs of those in our community.
Service.
Serve Our Community: Through service projects, volunteer hours, and annual giving, we directly support local organizations that share our mission of uplifting others. Members have the opportunity to grow as leaders, take on meaningful roles, and develop skills that extend beyond League work.
Friendship.
Support One Another: We believe in lifting each other up, celebrating wins together, and building lasting friendships along the way. The League is more than an organization—it’s a sisterhood. Our members are united by shared values and a commitment to giving back. Whether you’re navigating motherhood, building your career, or starting a new chapter, you’ll find encouragement, laughter, and lifelong friendships here.
Impact.
Fundraise with Purpose: Our signature events and initiatives raise vital funds that allow us to give back in impactful ways. Every dollar we raise is rooted in our desire to create meaningful change. The funds we generate go directly toward grants and support for nonprofits that serve children, families, and those in need.

Sisterhood.
While service is at the heart of what we do, so is sisterhood. The Junior Welfare League is a place where genuine friendships are formed and celebrated. Throughout the year, we host a variety of social gatherings and outings that give members the chance to relax, recharge, and connect outside of volunteer work.
Whether you’re new to town or have deep local roots, these events help foster community and belonging among women who share a common purpose.
